About the 10 Minute Beginner Series

The 10 Minute Beginner Series is a comprehensive year-long program designed to help you build a consistent fitness routine. This program is perfect for beginners and can be customized to fit your schedule.

  • Program Duration: 1 year (52 weeks)
  • Default Schedule: 5 days per week
  • Workout Length: 10 minutes per session
  • Flexible Scheduling: Choose your workout days (3, 4, or 5 days per week)

Note: If you select fewer than 5 workout days per week, the program will automatically extend to ensure you complete all workouts.

Access Program Schedule Settings

Open Settings

To begin setting up your 10 Minute Beginner Series, you'll first need to configure your workout schedule preferences.

  1. Open the ReadyWOD app
  2. Look for the gear icon (⚙️) in the top right corner of the screen
  3. Tap the gear icon to open the Settings menu
  4. In the "Workout Preferences" section, find and tap on "Program Scheduling"
  5. You'll see it shows "5 days/week selected" (or your current setting) with a right arrow indicating it's tappable

💡 Tip: The gear icon is always accessible from the main workout screen, making it easy to adjust your schedule at any time.

Set Your Schedule

In the Program Schedule settings, you'll configure which days of the week you want to work out.

  1. Enable the "Use Custom Schedule" toggle at the top
  2. Select your preferred workout days by tapping the checkboxes next to each day:
    • Monday through Friday (recommended for 5 days/week)
    • Or choose 3-4 days that work best for your schedule
  3. You'll see a summary showing which days are selected (e.g., "5 selected")
  4. The schedule preview will display: "Your workouts will be scheduled on: [selected days]"
  5. Tap "Save" in the top right corner to save your preferences
  6. Close the settings by tapping "Cancel" or the back button

📅 Important: The program will only schedule workouts on the days you select. If you choose 3 days per week instead of 5, the program will last longer than a year to ensure you complete all workouts.

Open the Menu and Select the Program

Navigate to Programs

Now that your schedule is configured, it's time to load the 10 Minute Beginner Series program.

  1. From the main workout screen, tap the hamburger menu button (☰) in the upper left corner
  2. The side menu will slide in from the left
  3. In the menu, locate and tap "Programs"
  4. Expand "10 Minute Series" by tapping on it
  5. Select "Beginner" from the list

💡 Tip: The menu shows your current track (e.g., "Beginner Track") at the top, and all available programs are organized by category for easy navigation.

Choose When to Begin

After selecting the Beginner program, the app will prompt you to choose a start date for your program.

  1. A pop-up will appear asking "Would you like to start the 10 Minute Beginner program?"
  2. You have three options:
    • "Start Today" - Begins the program immediately
    • "Pick Start Date" - Allows you to choose a specific date
    • "Cancel" - Closes the pop-up without starting
  3. Select your preferred option
  4. If you choose "Pick Start Date", a date picker will appear for you to select your start date

📅 Scheduling Logic: The first workout will load on your selected start date. Subsequent workouts will follow in order, but will only appear on the workout days you configured in Step 2. For example, if you selected Monday-Friday and start on a Wednesday, your next workout will be on Thursday, then Friday, then Monday (skipping the weekend).

Program Loaded and Ready

Your Program is Active

Once you've selected your start date, the 10 Minute Beginner Series program will be loaded and ready to use!

  1. The first workout will appear in the Normal View on your selected start date
  2. You can view upcoming workouts in advance using:
    • The calendar widget at the top of the workout screen
    • The Schedule tab in the bottom navigation bar
  3. Workouts will automatically appear on your selected workout days
  4. Each workout includes:
    • Warm-up exercises
    • Main 10-minute workout
    • Recovery/stretching recommendations

✅ You're All Set! Your program is now active and will guide you through a full year of beginner-friendly workouts. Just follow the schedule, complete each workout, and track your progress!
